Angiostrongyylus Vasorum also known to his friends as ‘Lungworm’ or ‘French heartworm’ is a parasite that is carried by slugs and snails and can be fatal for dogs if left untreated. Slugs and snails do not even need to be ingested; the parasite can be ingested purely from a water bowl which has traces of slug and snail trail left on it or a toy, bone, food bowl etc.
Lungworm only affects dogs and is not transmitted to cats.
Advocate is a spot on treatment that is simple and easy to use, a once a month application gives protection against parasites including fleas and worms, most importantly for dogs Lungworm.
Paws Inc. has attached for your convenience some information regarding Lungworm, including the signs to look for. Please follow the link below
Have your pet’s booster gone overdue? Don't worry........
We understand that sometimes this can happen for a variety of reasons - sometimes it's due to the ill health of the pet, or because owners themselves are unwell. We all lead such busy lives it's understandable if it gets overlooked. We know that the current recession is also affecting family finances and this can affect affordability
Thousands of pets die each year from preventable diseases. That’s why ‘Paws Inc.’ is running a Vaccine Amnesty to help people through the tough economic times. Our aim is to ensure that every pet is fully protected
From September 2012, Paws Inc can help you kick-start your pet’s immunity to infectious diseases with a full vaccination course and health check for the price of a booster! Call Paws in Dawes or Paws by the Green today to book a vaccination and health check
Restarting vaccinations involves two injections; Dogs will need to be given their second vaccination 3-5 weeks following the first. Cats will need to be given their second vaccination 3-4 weeks following the first. As part of Vaccination Amnesty we will be providing the 2nd injection free of charge to clients who missed their pet’s annual vaccination.
For more information on the importance of vaccinations and an amnesty price list please download our amnesty brochure. Download here.
